Why Success Means Never Ever Giving Up

How many times did we hear people giving up when problems start? How about the guy who did not finish his college because his family had run out of money to support his studies? What about this American of Asian descent who, despite his immense potential, immediately left a company because he was discriminated for his roots? Giving up is the easiest solution for many people. It’s the easiest way out. But giving up amid trials and crises do not make you a better person. Instead giving up hinders you to face your worst fears and life’s biggest problems. For those who give up easily, success is hard to come by. Achieving your goals in life becomes more difficult, if not downright impossible. To give up means sacrificing your personal success. By giving up, you lose nothing. But in the end, you lose everything. Of course, everybody knows the Father of the Theory of Relativity: the great Albert Einstein. He was one of the greatest scientists in the history of mankind. His theories and discoveries have been praised and widely accepted by the scientific community. But do you know that when he was only 16 years old, he failed a university exam allowing him to study electrical engineering in Zurich, Switzerland? Had he given up then, he would not have become one of the most illuminating and brightest men of all time. Or how about Michael Jordan, the basketball legend? One of our basketball icons of all time, Jordan is among the most successful athletes the sports history. But do you know that he suffered an early disappointment when...

4 Conditions To Be Successful

The quest for success should be an exciting and fulfilling adventure. It should be refined and enhanced by a broader perspective of what it takes for success at life. We have here a framework for success that proves you don’t have to sell out to move up. And it works. There are four conditions of success – four components of a successful mind-set – four means to a successful life. These are not, however, just “Things to Be Done on Monday So That Success Can Be Had on Tuesday.” They are conditions we need to incorporate into our lives every day. Condition 1: We need a clear conception of what we want, a vivid vision, a goal or set of goals powerfully imagined. The first condition of success is that we develop an idea of where we want to go and a conception of what we want to become. It should be both clear and specific. We want to accomplish something in this life. But what? How about you? What do you want to be? Are you becoming it now? If not, why not? What are you waiting for? Condition 2: We need a strong confidence that we can attain our goals. When we set high goals for ourselves, we always face a challenge. Fear can lead to failure – confidence to conquest. Which will we choose? Life is a risk. But the risks are so common, we’re accustomed to them. They hardly ever cross our minds until we contemplate something new: a new job, a new relationship, a new set of goals. Then we worry. What if I...

Success Is Not A Sprint

Success is a marathon, not a sprint. But many of today’s youth do not know this, or they know but not make it a maxim in running their life race. If we take things easy, and act as purposely and positively as we can, success will surely come our way. There are rules for success, and one of them is: ‘Never rush’. If you look around you, you will discover that those who have made it to the top are not only those who inherit wealth, fame or name. Yes, wealth, fame, and popular name can open door of opportunities for some folks, but the lack of them, ab initio, does not lock such doors and windows of opportunities either. If you want to make it in life, as we all make efforts to achieve greater potentials and accumulate better aspirations of life, the rule , ‘never rush’, applies. What do you want to make in life: intellectual progress or social mobility? The best and possibly easiest way to make it in life is to make it slowly but surely. With this recommendation, I am not saying we should be lackadaisical about life, or that we should sleep off all the twenty-fours and expect miracles to come, what I am saying is that we should organise ourselves, and see our dreams come true one by one. Remember the scriptural axiom that the battle is neither for the strong nor the race for the swift, but that time and chance happen to them all. In the year 2006, I gave a speech at the orientation event organised by the Student...

Success Online Requires Realistic Expectations

Your success online if you are so seeking it will not come overnight or even in a period of a few short days! It is important to realize as you build your business you will need to have patience since the type of success you are seeking is more the result of a process. For many seeking success in business online it is either their assumption or they have been led to believe that little effort is needed and results come quickly. Not true in either case! Unfortunately many possessing these beliefs are easily frustrated and quickly give up their pursuits. It is best to be more realistic as you do build your business that time and a good consistent effort will be required. Here are 3 realistic expectations you can assume to encounter if you hope to achieve success in business while working on the internet. Results Are Not Always Immediate It is important to recognize that many of the efforts you make as you build your business will not reveal results right away. To expect immediate gratification from everything you do is to set yourself up for needless frustration and even worse, failure. Allowing yourself to get frustrated like this can easily discourage you thereby compelling you to quit! Results Are Not Always Apparent In many cases the results you get will be very subtle to the point of being almost unrecognizable. Here too most of the functions you will be addressing are meant to perform a small task. The combination of other successfully completed tasks will then combine over a period of time to produce a...

How To Feel More Successful In Life

Every day you accomplish tasks, meet goals, check things off your to-do list, and become more successful in life. You continuously work towards having the life that you want, and everything you do is one step towards that life. But if you are anything like me you don’t feel successful every single day of your life – even though you’ve accomplished a lot in your days. Feeling like a failure is habit-forming. We constantly focus on the things that we don’t do, or don’t succeed at in life, and we call ourselves failures because of these things. The truth is we have many more successes in life than failures but we choose to put our attention on the things we didn’t get done. I’m not just talking about huge things that we are striving to be successful at in our lives. I’m also talking about the little things that we do every day that affect how we feel about ourselves. Let’s say you are a business man who is trying to further his career and lose weight as well. Here’s an example of a typical day: – Drive to work with no accidents. – Accomplish all the tasks set out to do. – Exercise 1 hour. – Make an important phone call. – Send an important email. – Learn something new. – Eat really crappy food the entire day. The list above contains a lot of successes throughout the day, and one failure in the eyes of someone trying to lose weight or eat healthier. What do you think he most likely focuses on at the end of the...
